Delicious Vegan Banana Bread

IMG_9098

Long time no talk! You may have noticed a lack of recipe postings from me lately, but don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten about my blog! I’ve been incognito for a two main  reasons: 1) I’ve been applying to colleges and recently got accepted to my first choice (YAY!!!!!!) AND 2) I’ve been experimenting on and off with adopting a vegan diet. I must say that a vegan lifestyle brings many health and energy benefits, but it does not supply a wide array of dessert options. Without butter and eggs, recipes are limited and the few vegan baking attempts of mine have not yielded great results…that is, until I found this amazing vegan banana bread recipe. Continue reading

Red Velvet Cake

Happy Valentine’s Day!!! On a day like today, I’m going to reference the words of one of my favorite actresses, Emma Stone: “you’re a human being, and life is wonderful, so eat the damn red velvet cupcake.” And she’s right! Even out of all the fancy layer cakes, red velvet is definitely my flavor of choice and what’s even more exciting is that it’s a Paula Deen recipe, which means it must be utterly delicious! Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

IMG_8689

Mission: Completed! All rejoice, for this Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe was an unbelievable success. I even daresay that my absolute favorite Soft & Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe has finally met its match! I had never used brown butter in a recipe before, but I knew that its rich caramel, nutty flavor was just what my cookie palette craved. Browning butter can be tricky, but I was amazingly overjoyed when this recipe turned out so beautifully, not to mention fulfilling my cookie “type” of having a soft, chewy, and buttery texture. Mrs. Fields Chocolate Chip Cookies

IMG_8653

Welcome to the “Cookie Series” entry #4, another stop on my quest for the perfect chocolate chip cookie! Because I’ve been so excited to try new recipes and I have a slightly obsessive personality (thank you, dad), just this week I’ve made five different cookie doughs (but only 2 of which were successful batches that I would fully recommend and post)! I had issues with wrong flour measurements, broken egg yolks, and baking disasters, but here I present a delicious, decadent, definitely not disappointing cookie recipe that’s a Mrs. Fields secret! Sally’s Chocolate Chip Cookies

IMG_8543

I’ve been looking back to my roots…To cookies, that is. My all-time favorite Soft & Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe is by far my most famous dessert. Regardless of my 5-layer cakes or fancy pastries, my cookies take the blue ribbon as the “fan-favorite”. So, when I found this YouTube video (below) about the science behind cookies, I was intrigued to investigate my ultimate cookie recipe, courtesy of the fabulous Martha Stewart. Continue reading

Cinnamon Toast

IMG_8401My favorite part of winter break is waking up late to enjoy leisurely breakfasts, my all-time favorite meal! I  love eating breakfast foods at all times of the day, so naturally I was attracted to this delectable Cinnamon Toast recipe that I found recently. Because there’s no better time for a midnight snack than between writing an endless amount of college essays, this sweet treat tasted especially delicious! Continue reading

Chocolate Peppermint Surprise Cookies

IMG_8346

When I first started “At 350 Degrees”, my mom made a WordPress account so she could comment on my recipe posts. Her account picture was  a gorgeous, half-eaten stack of these chocolate peppermint surprise cookies. I had shown her the recipe because I knew, from her love of Peppermint Patties, of her favorite flavor combination: chocolate and mint. Continue reading

Homemade Cronuts (Penn Appetit #3!)

IMG_7851

A donut and a croissant walked into a bar……And soon after, their lovechild the cronut was born!

I challenge myself to bake almost all desserts, but I stop myself when it comes to frying. That means no donuts or churros for me, but obviously I strayed from my rule when it came to making cronuts. I had first tried one while out shopping because as sale promotion, the department store passed around a shiny platter of assorted cronuts. ( And I certainly didn’t pass up free dessert!)
