Holiday desserts are fun, but we all know that an old-fashioned bundt or coffee cake will always take the grand prize. Traditional desserts hold a precious place in my heart, especially ones like this delicious, Paula-Deen inspired Butter Rum Cake! From its moist, vanilla cake to its shiny glaze, this is the ultimate no-fail dessert! The cake itself is an unbelievable vanilla pound-type-cake that I added a sprinkle of pecans to before baking. Then, the butter rum glaze infuses the cake with an extra juicy sweetness. If you’re not a fan of strong alcohol flavors in your desserts, I would recommend using less rum in the recipe because as it warns, it contains a pretty large amount or rum (don’t worry, the alcohol cooks off during baking). Regardless, this cake was impossibly amazing and is one of my favorites yet; the pictures don’t nearly do it justice. Enjoy!
Recipe: Rum Cake {Emphasis On The Rum}
This sounds so delicious! Yum!

Loving how dark it is on the outside and how golden in the crumb. Looks so good!
Really? Thanks! I was surprised how brown the outside became. I think I would prefer it a little lighter, more of how it looks in person.
It looks absolutely delicious! I will keep this one in mind for my Christmas baking ;-)
Just a heads up, the rum actually doesn’t cook down during baking since there is so much in the recipe. You’ll still get quite the tingle if you eat too much! :) Looks good!
That’s why I recommend decreasing the amount..it is a lot!
