Salted Caramel Cupcakes

Joyeux anniversaire –Happy Birthday–(even though a very belated one) to my friend Gina! And, as of last week, Happy 1 Year Anniversary to my blog, At 350 Degrees! Although she was extremely thankful for a birthday surprise on a regular school morning, I was actually the lucky one because in planning her birthday treats, she connected me with a friend of her’s that is now one of my own. Along with sharing many interests and personality traits with this friend of hers, we found another area in common: a love of baking. Although we both usually detest baking with other people, we love baking with each other so much so that we volunteered to bake over 150 cupcakes for our school dance this year! (We were in the kitchen a whole day!) Nevertheless, as our first baking experiment and birthday gift to our mutual friend, we chose to make these absolutely incredible Salted Caramel Cupcakes! (Note: salt is optional) A spin-off of Sprinkle’s new and extremely popular salted caramel flavor, this recipe wins the taste test: the cake was rich and moist, enhanced even further by a delicious, smooth caramel frosting. Decorate with a drizzle of caramel syrup or these fancy crystallized caramel creations to make this dessert even more special, one amazing both in taste and presentation. Enjoy!!!

Recipe: 1) Cupcake  2) Frosting
