Pumpkin Recipe Roundup

candy-corn-pumpkinsIt’s almost Thanksgiving! (AKA time to stuff yourselves until your pants can’t button anymore…) Personally, I’d rather pass on all the traditional dishes and head straight for dessert, so here are a few of my favorite pumpkin recipes to make for you and your family to enjoy! Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Continue reading

Pumpkin Spice Biscotti

cov

The “PSL”, or Pumpkin Spice Latte, is the go-to fall drink of choice for the majority  of my peers. Surprisingly, I’m not a fan of the sugary festivities inside a Starbucks holiday cup; however, I do, enjoy a similar sweet and spicy flavor in my baked goods. My sister loves crispy, crunchy foods, so it’s no surprise that she loves biscotti cookies, including these Pumpkin Spice ones!  Continue reading

Pumpkin Pie

Thanksgiving quotation: “Produce great pumpkins, the pies will follow later.” -Anonymous

Well, I guess the pies did follow; since the Pilgrims gave us pumpkins, it was surely just inevitable that we made pies! (But, a true history buff knows that pumpkins were really just part of the traditional diet of Squanto and his tribe!) This is the first Thanksgiving that I am not home to celebrate (and bake!) because I am visiting my grandmother in Argentina, so our usual Thanksgiving dinner crowd will be missing out on our monstrous spread of food, and of course the desserts! Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte

Happy Sunday! Today it really feels like fall day perfect for cuddling up with a knit blanket and a  mug filled with your favorite drink! At home, I almost always have a tea in hand, but I love making special beverages because they are so fun to decorate! When I was little, I would pretend to be a barista for family and friends, garnishing Sprite and Coca Cola glasses with lemon wedges and sugar rims. So, Im incredibly EXCITED to announce two new changes to at350degrees: 1) I will be adding polls to my posts so that you can vote on which dessert you would like to see next! AND 2) I am adding a drinks category to my recipes! Expect amazing marshmallow shakes, s’mores hot chocolate, Hoqwarts Butterbeer and more (vote on which drink you want below)! My first drink is the most famous and loved Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte! It has an amazing pumpkin flavor combined with warm cinnamon spices and topped with a mountain of whipped cream–It almost tastes like a pumpkin gingerbread man! In the spirit of the upcoming presidential election, please make sure to vote for the next featured beverage!! (Perhaps I will make either a red or a blue themed dessert based on which candidate wins!) Enjoy!!

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread

My quotation of the season: “Vegetables are a must on a diet. I suggest carrot cake, zucchini bread, and pumpkin pie.” ~Jim Davis

Thus, I present one of my favorite fall time desserts, pumpkin bread…with tons of chocolate chips! Just as some people count the days until fall when they can sip gingerbread and pumpkin spice lattes, I long for autumn treats with sugar, spice and everything nice! Nothing reminds me more of turning leaves and pumpkin patches than yummy pumpkin bread baking in the oven. As I love all things coffee cake and breakfast cake-like, pumpkin bread has always been a favorite of mine! This cake is so moist and delicious, it literally melts in your mouth. Just on its own, the cake is so amazing, adding chocolate chips takes this fantastic cake to the next level! You will love this fall staple! Enjoy!!!

Recipe: Perfect Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread

***NOTE: Sometimes being a purist pays off. I think I might like this pumpkin bread even better without the chocolate chips! Hard to believe, but sans-chocolate, this dessert becomes more like a pumpkin loaf/coffee cake (my favorite type of cake!).
