With recent Thanksgiving and Hanukkah celebrations, I’ve eaten way too much food in the past week than can be healthy for anyone. So if you’re like me, you’re in need of a serious detox. This Chocolate Angel Food cake is anything less than delicious, but it’s certainly a lighter recipe with fewer calories! (Hooray!) Normally, I love traditional vanilla Angel Food Cake, but because my sister requested a chocolate dessert, I added a rich cocoa twist. Angel food cake is the one dessert where I actually think the cake mix tastes best, so to my benefit, I was able to whip up this recipe in minutes. My favorite pairing is a large dollop of Cool Whip, so grab your spoonfuls and dig in! You can also frost the cake with whipped cream/Cool Whip (and sprinkle with shredded coconut or chocolate chips) for a fancy layer-cake-like appearance. Enjoy!!!
Recipe: Chocolate Angel Food Cake (I would try adding 1/4 cup, or less, of fine sugar to counteract the bitterness of the cocoa powder.)

Oh this is happening! But surely you could top it with homemade whipped cream, c’mon you’re too good for Cool Whip ;)
So true, but I prefer the taste and the calories! Lol
Really? Oh it’s so greasy and dense to me. Different stroke for different folks.
Whipped cream sometimes leaves a fatty texture on the roof of my mouth. But, it’s definitely the way to go in pastries!
