Introducing my next “healthy” recipe adventure: a delicious chocolate chip zucchini cake, courtesy of my absolute favorite chef in the world, Paula Deen! While this recipe may not exactly be up to paleo diet standards, at least it features multiple cups of a green vegetable–pretty healthy for a traditional Paula dish. This cake reminds me of a banana bread coffee cake hybrid, a combination of my two favorites desserts! Plus, I’ sure the generous serving of chocolate chips didn’t hurt! I didn’t dare tell my sister about this cake’s secret ingredient, but she couldn’t even tell the difference; in fact, she asked for a second slice. Enjoy!
Recipe: Chocolate Chip Zucchini Bread (Recipe makes 2 loaf pans or 1 large bundt)
This looks wonderful!!!
great pan! am impressed your cake came out so nicely. Always good to have another use for zucchini :-)
G’day! What a moist looking cake, true!
Wish I could come through the screen and enjoy a slice over a cuppa with you!
Cheers! Joanne

Zucchini and choc chips sounds like a very odd combination, but I am quite tempted to try it :)
Surprisingly, the cake is really delicious and you can’t even taste the zucchini!
The bundt pan you used is gorgeous. Lucky you!
This looks like something I have to try! :) Thank you for following my blog, also. :)
In high school and such proficiency in baking…respect!!!
Really? Paula Deen is your favorite chef?! I never ever would’ve guessed! The green vegetables comment is a good one for her style of cooking :)
Oh ya, she’s definitely my favorite…at least for desserts! Her recipes are the only ones I trust without even looking at the pictures
Yummy! That looks beautiful and delicious.
OMG!!!! I love it. I need to make this. Thanks for sharing.
Banana bread and coffee cake PLUS chocolate chips? Oh, yes, please! Looks great!
That looks absolutely delicious! I love zucchini in a cake and chocolate chips make anything better.
Recently made this recipe myself, tasted very good! Something to note though, apparently one can’t substitute Yellow Squash in easily… that fella had a lotta moisture, the chocolate chips sorta dropped to the bottom while cooking…
Glad to hear it! Try dusting the chocolate chips with some flour

Chocolate and zucchini – always a good combination :)
MMM this looks beautiful! Every post, every picture makes me hungrier and hungrier. Drives me to the edge of going into the kitchen and doing some late night baking!
Thank you! There’s nothing wrong with that :)
Love the garden! My patio plnats are doing pretty well, but the Topsy Turvey Tomato planter thingy may be a bust. The plant is HUGE and has yet to produce a single tomato yet. Fingers crossed I’ll have a bumper crop in the next month or so.
I’m bookmarking this – looks so moist and dense. Yum :)
We have a ‘glut’ of courgettes right now.. so this will be a perfect try-out! Thanks!
